*if this is in the wrong section could a mod please move it- thanks* hi everyone ive been on these forums a while now and after my first meet with everyone at the skidpan id thougt id make a thread about my cars and hopefully make it into a build up thread it started a few months ago when i got sick of my lancer so i decided to upgrade so i thought RWD + NA + LIGHT + IMPORT = SILVIA/180 after looking around a NA 180 seemed to much effort for what it was worth and after looking around decided on a S13 after many hours of searching countless website and the usual carsales every day i found a car on this forum bought it off Adam (Stalemate) it had 2.5 inch exhaust with hiflow cat and extractors heavy duty clutch 17" advanti rims and looked like in the first month i put in stereo good alarm new steering wheel new pedals new rims (18"s black with a chrome lip) GT-C copies S15 front seats after that it looked like this yes the steering wheel and pedals are tacky but it was an impulse buy which are on my todo list of things to change around this time i went to an ID skidpan day and liked it so much i went to a cuircuit day the next week and i was hooked on this crazy sport you hoon kids called drifting BUT i had a couple of close calls so i decided to go for a track car as i kept getting coents on how clean the s13 was and i didnt want to wreck it so i started looking i ended up with this one not the best condition but it was running fine (a bit rough at the time but just needed a good service) got it cheap for something manual and registered BUT its a CA but it will do until it dies and ill go from there just got a 3in cat back and SR turbo im in the process of semi stripping the interior (does anyone know the minimum for a street car) after my first track day at the oran park GP circuit having a few spins and enjoying turboy goodness i got defected on the way home the car has been defected since then and i am still trying to clear it ie was defected in mid december all local shops closed till the 7th jan get defects fixed engine has been changed but records havent i dont have recipt for engine so i have to get a statutory decleration or something and have to get it done by sunday at the latest nothing much else done to it exept i put on one of those varex mufflers to get it cleared so i just gotta wire that up now and see how it goes anyway here are my cars at present day side by side the silvia now has a GTR/Nismo style grill (copy) and the wing has been taken off hopefully in the next month it will have some coilovers (tein SS) and the spoiler holes welded/ sunroof rust fixed and reprayed then im going to do some more stuff to the 180 FMIC Coilovers ect the usual basics anyway any advice/opinons is welcome |

its a CA but it will do until it dies and ill go from there just got a 3in cat back and SR turbo im in the process of semi stripping the interior (does anyone know the minimum for a street car) You had fun right? your engine survived also - How does that make your CA a problem? Oil surge issues aside, if you take care of it, it should take care of you There are a couple of people on the gazelle forum that have been defected for running stripped interiors, from memory to be legal you need at least - door trims (so no metal edges to cut you to pieces) dash (for headbutting) heater box (for demisting, or some means of demisting the front screen) instrument cluster/indicator stalks/light controls there is a PDF somewhere on the RTA site with what you need to keep to be legal. edit: found PDF -> http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/downloads/vsi/vsi_06_-_guidelines_for_light_vehicle_modifications_nov_2007.pdf See page 4 - In addition to what i've listed above you need - -legal seatbelts (duh) -2 speed wiper controls -windscreen washers -automotive safety glass for windscreen and other windows |
