personally i fail to see the classic humour in this example from the article but others may think differently.

Supt Hartley said a "classic" example of the success of the scheme was the recent case of a hire car driver who was pulled over for speeding while ferrying a bride and groom.

..let the married couple have their fun on their day.

No, not if it's someone's wedding day, or if Johnny just got his HSC or Sally got a great new job or whatever else. A "special occasion" is not an excuse to endanger others on the road.
you have a valid point and im not disagreeing perhaps i should of been more specific there.. it's all relative to where they were speeding and how fast over the limit he was going.yes the moral is don't speed and i don't commend anyone that does but if he was doing 5-10k's over in a 90 zone or on the m5 and he got booked despite there is no excuse for speeding if he did get a ticket for a small 5-10k over that's petty in my eyes to spoil someones wedding day.. know what i mean.. on the other hand if he was speeding anywhere in a suburban street or even speeding over that 5-10k buffer on the hwy then book him for sure as your right,he was endangering his and others lifes...you get what i mean now..i think it's a descent idea to get all the d*ckheads that give modified car owners hassles.

That's not right...it says

Quote:
Some even sporting 'P' Plates

What about the P plate laws? They're out on the road trying to catch 'P' Platers 'hooning' around
when they themselves are disguised as P platers.
If you are going to act as a P plater try and be more realistic...
You can't be realistic in WRX with P plates and hope to catch other people...
Although it might work it still not very fair....

I reckon....this is one of them 'operations' where it is more towards revenue
raising then life saving...they already have scared P platers enough by
threatening to crush P platers cars...

Before you know it in a few years the number of new drivers could drop...

And just because your on your P's does the automatically make you a hoon?

I've seen fully licensed drivers drive more horribly then P platers..

I think the government and the police should put all that money that is
wasted with things like this and stupid commercials like the 'pinky waving' one and put money towards teaching
L and P Platers better driving skills..
Like defensive driving courses etc etc...

It's just odd to see how far the police are ready to go to catch 'hoons'..

Just drive faster and more sideways so they can't catch you.

Are you serious? Man thats crap. As if three years on your p's (red and green together) isn't bad enough! I'm so glad I'm on my full licence now :D

EDIT: Also, it seems that the NSW police have started using older style cars as unmarked police cars now too. My bf saw an old school pajero pulling up a car on pennant hills road. :O

i spotted today

1 x blue Ford Typhoon

1 x orange SS Comodore

both latest models

both undercover cop cars

normal plates on both, the typhoon had the white on black plates though

one thing i notice uusually u can pick the undercovers cos they have like 10 antennas on their cars

now they only have 1 antenna on the back but its a curly one its diff to the normal antenna.
