The Apexi ECV is shit. Stay away from it.

I have a Varex and demo'd it at the last dyno day. Pretty much had everyones jaw drop. It bloody works!!

If you want a small vid demo, i'd be happy to upload hehe.

depends on application, ECVs are good because theyre cheap and work when you need temporary quietness, but running one close all the time is a no no....

ive got a question about the varex tho?.. when its set to quietest, how much power does it rob over its loudest setting?, I know it runs 3 times through the muffler, but wouldn't that cause a massive restiction and be somewhat bad for the engine? over say, a high flowing jap branded jasma zorst (fujitsubo, hks silent power, etc)?

im thinking about buying one as my current system the muffler is virtually straight through anyway, and it annoys me alot on the way to work.

Busky made 252rwkw at the dyno day with that muffler on, so i can't see it being too restrictive.

that doesnt answer my question..

yah sure if its fully open its straight through so yeah doesnt make much if any restriction.
Id like to know the difference between open and shut, because if i did buy one itd spend alot of time on the quiet setting...

IT will restrict airflow, and it seems it doesnt restict alot when refering to Busky results.
