Yeah... seems like a nice little inconvenience as even though my plates are clearly visible from both the front & back of my car (sittin inside the windows, and have checked that they were visible from all applicable angles, you only couldn't see them if you looked at my car from the side <yeh..no shit>) i now also gotta spend time, every couple of weeks visitin the oh so lovely and friendly staff at the rta in order to get a stack of new plates, because some bogan mofos love to take p plates off cars for some unknown reason.. I'd say give it half a year, and i'll needa respray parts of my car from all the scratches i've received just from my plates being ripped out from behind the liscence plates.. i'd be alot more pissed if i didn't get off my p's in a few months, but none the less.. pain in the fckn ass!

Being said.. rules are there for a reason, and i do notice how alot of people do display their places in rather obscure places where you REALLLYY gotta look to find them.. so i understand why these new rules have come in... but nothin's better than being down to your last 2 plates, and havin them swiped, followed up by getting fined straight after that as you're on your way to the RTA to get some more...

Solution:
1) Come up with a way to mount your plates that does not scratch your paint.
Ie those metal holders or somthing similar, you are all into modding cars, i'm sure a mount for a rectangular piece of plastic isn't a stretch.
2) Take the plates off when you are down at westfield and chuck em on the seat or whatever, especially if they are the last two.
3) profit?

4) <insert joke about using chains on pants to attach plate to car>

5) Paint P plates on your front and rear bumpers.

To me it looks like half way during your transition to your blacks, that your white and red r31 made love and spat out a multicouloured r31?

My green 31 is definitely adopted. None of my cars would produce offspring as ugly as the bronchitis-phleghm green 31

I always thought it was illegal to have P plates inside the vehicle too (I got busted for it a few years ago when I was on Ps.... for it being in the front window which isn't tinted).

Maybe someone should make an electronic P plate out of LEDs (one that can change from red to green maybe) and get the RTA to approve having them inside the car?
If anyone goes out and does this and makes money, I demand royalties dammit! :)

I've always thought that it was illegal to have them inside the car in nsw for as long as I've been driving.

in the end,you can bitch and moan about it,but it's not like the change is REALLY putting you out. it's always been a requirement for you to have plates displayed, and they're there for at least a year. you'd want something decent to attach them to anyway I would have thought.

you can bolt them on an extended bracket next to the numberplate, you can make up another bracket and screw it to the underside of the bumper so it doesn't hang down too low,you can tape them to the back window, you have heaps of options.
