and it wouldn't suprise me even then if they don't drop the price much at all, i imagine they will bring out "bundles" such as a free controller, or with a game in a pack etc......

Prices only drop when the sales go right down, and the sales for the 360 are phenominal, and just because they are making a bucket load of cash out of this so far, will not mean they will drop the prices.

I was reading that the Xbox360 is lossing Microsoft money with every sale in every country, Unlike the 1st Xbox that lost them money in Japan only I belive.

console makers dont make money on the consoles. they make it on the game sales as they pay licencing fees to the console maker.

PS2 and xbox is still being sold under what it costs them to make. but the games still sell............

thats right, it's costing Sony over $900 to make each PS3 console, due to the Blu-Ray etc, and they're planning on selling it for around $900 at launch instead of upping the price to over $1000...........they'd better hope they have some really really REALLY great games

i dont think they will charge that much at first, for a console, thats robbery. but yes due to all the licencing it makes the consoles more expensive too.

i think PS3 will have a tag of 600-800 on release. same as PS2 and playstation when they first came out.

then again was the PS2 ever at 900?

I don't think it was at 900... Just seeing the 600 - 800 figures, and knowing I got a slimline one for $230 makes me fell all warm and fuzzy inside :)

I got the ps2 at launch in aus and paid $750 $90- $110 per game and $85 for memory cards

I think ps3 will launch at around the $800-$950 market- put it this way- ppl pay $5-$800 for uber graphics cards my 9800xt cost me $790 2 years ago :oops:

Whatever the case ill be in line to get the ps3 on launch- id have gotten the 360 but games are meh at the moment
