I'd be keeping an eye out at Shell too. They've done a similar thing with 95 RON.

The BPs around my area had 95octane premium out of stock, but all had Ultimate.

I don't even like BP, but around this area, BP is the only one that has 98octane. Mobil FTW !!!!!!!

my mate filled up with "98" octane from mobile a few months ago and it had so much water in it the engine ran lean for a few mins then blew, this is in a 2005 model sv6 commodore so I dont think ill be going anywhere near mobil...

Had a long chat to a friend of mine that owns BP in mittagong.

Ultimate is NOT going to use ethanol

Ultimate is only made in two refineries in australia - one in QLD, and one in WA. This is unlike unleaded and premium, which are made in NSW by shell and caltex, to BPs standards.

The ultra clever thing is, though, that BP decides to do maintenance on their refineries in the period before christmas, ie october/november. The reason we've had a lack of ultimate, is because theyve been shutting down sections of the refineries for maintenance.

v-power has no ethanol

v-power racing does have ethanol added to make it 100RON

Thanks for that Zei, i've been using V-power all the time and i would of thought that V-power has no ethanol but this definitely clears it up! :)

Yup i agree with all of you, not only BP has no Ultimate but even Shell does not always have V-power. The Shell's i use is in Chatswood and the space station in Lane Cove, but at the moment Shell Chatswood is under renovations it seems :-?
