I love that,absolute gold.

he's copeed more in one night than I've had in 15 years of driving!
top effort!!

makes that jetstar flight and hire car when you get to adelaide look just a tiny bit smarter an option I'd reckon.

At 1.10am he overtook an unmarked police car on the Sturt Highway at Coolac at 206km/h in a 110km/h zone.

The driver hung around until police had left before getting back in the car, hitting the road once again

Errr.... So the police thought it was safe to just fine/suspend this tool and let him be on his merry way? Knowing full well that he most likely get back in his car and commit more offences. Which by the way he did..

You would think they would not let him endanger any more motorists... wouldn't you?

Quote:
The driver was ordered to appear at Burwood Court on January 22, Hay Court on February 4 and Gundagai Court on March 3.

It sounds like he is still able to get back behind a wheel

I was thinking the exact same thing. What if ended up killing someone? then what would the police say? "oh erm, we wanted to fine him some more times so we could get more money, how were we to know that someone with such little regard for the law could possibly kill someone?"

I'm seriously disgusted at the police for this. Why the hell wasn't he locked up? Even for the night. You can get locked up for the night just for being drunk and disorderly.... ffs this seriously shits me.
If that was a P plater and/or a driver of an import i bet he wouldn't have committed a second offence due to the car being impounded and him being arrested for a nice story for the daily telegraph to plaster on the front page of their shitty paper.
ARGH!

He wasn't driving an import, so our current policing philosophy would make it clear to the officers that it would be impossible for him to endanger the public.

Leaving him on the road would, as SamBo said, give them opportunity to obtain more money from him.

Bah! That's nothing. My dad had to defend a guy who got caught driving while suspended 8 times...that's like 5 years per re-suspension or something isnt it?

Anyways..

Went to court...

By driving...of course...

And is suspsended for the next 25 years. And he's only 24.

What a wonderful world we live in...
