Dan Osman. He was a well known Speed Climber in California. The vid is one of his climbs in Yosemite National Park. When climbing wasn't enough of a buzz he started jumping off cliffs but instead of a bungee cord he used a rope.

One evening he went up by himself and jumped off but the rope didn't do its job.

Here is his story. It is interesting.

yeah i remember hearing something like that. He was going to do a huge jump or something the next day, but went up the night before and his equiptment had been there for few weeks and the rope snapped as he jumped.
