Check this out:

http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/02/ ... ?from=top5

My mate has been convinced since those cameras went up a couple of years ago that this is what they were for, and noone beleived him.....

NEXT THING YOU KNOW, WE WILL ALL HAVE BARCODES ON OUR FOREHEADS!!!

I'm sure this must encroach on privacy laws on like, a million different levels.

He is going to get a protest of some kind happening - it is amazing that they are allowed to do this. The M4 is a huge bottleneck in the morning - imagine what it will be like now :(

If they do crap like this, they should be prepared to firstly install at least 2 extra lanes!!

And tell me, how many people have been killed in genuine SPEED RELATED accidents between Wentworthville and Granville?

It is just a way of monitoring what people are doing and where they are going, and most importantly REVENUE RAISING

Like there's not a million other better ways to spend OUR tax dollars!!!

Yeah it's all well and good to say that..... but when I used to work at Gladesville, I would spend the whole 110kmph zone doing under 5kmph, then get stuck in more traffic when it hits 90kph.... funny that it's 90kays on the best & most well maintained section of the whole M4.... It used to take me between 2hours and 2 hours 45 minutes just to get to work every day from Penrith - depending on how many trainspotters slow right down to have a gawk at someone pulled over talking on the phone - then run up someone's ass at 1kmph... it's pathetic!

thats bullshit. lets take photos of cop cars doing over the speed limit, not signalling, turning on sirens so they can goi through red lights only to turn them off again when they are through the intersection. bastards.

Exactly!! My husband and I have both seen accidents on different occasions on the M4 in particular, where either a cop has lane changed and wiped someone out, or run up the back of someone, or jumped on the brakes and caused other people to have accidents.... but hey, they have a different set of rules!!

speed doesnt kill, its idiot behind the wheel that kills.

id rather be watching the damn fucking road rather then the speedo, especially for such a long stretch of road. most of the time i sit right on the speed limit, i dont want to cut it back to 100, just to be sure, mite as well slap a damn P plate on my car.

Either waste my damn time or money.

Yeah speed is a problem but i think if people knew how to control their 1000+ kg vehicles then that would solve a lot of problems.

im always one for better education for drivers.

I think it is waaaaay too easy to get your license

I'm sure i came really close to failing my test and if it was up to me, i wouldn't have passed me. I was a bit nervous :( on the day

You see some people on the road and you follow them for a bit and just think that they are an accident waiting to happen.
