i drive about 5% above speed limit in 60 or 80 k zones, speed limit in 40 and 50k zones.....tho on highways +freeways its about 20-30% abovedepending where i am.....course im only sposed to do 100 on green ps but its more dangerous to be travelling at a slower speed than everyone in that sorta situation.......just pisses off other drivers......especially truckies......feel sorry when they havta overtake someone just going slower than them.....

i know someone who got done for 160 in a 50 zone....on red p's......2nd day

what a numbnut....but then he does have a civic....

Before my car was imported, it had 17's on it and the speedo was calibrated for those wheels. In AU, I have 16's so my speedo is out. But that's where the distance measurement things on the Freeway come in handy.

I know that my car is going 8% slower than what the speedo says, so I generally set the cruise control at 65 in a 60 zone, 76 in a 70, 87 in an 80, 98 in a 90 and 108 in a 100. Having said that, for speed cameras, no matter what, I'm always doing a few k's under the limit...

Does that really make a difference?

I have 18's on my S15, the standard is 16's. Does this mean i'm going faster/slower than the speedo says?

I figured the wheel size is the same that only the rubber height gets reduced as wheel size goes up (i.e low profile).

if you have changed the wheels on your car to something different from the factory set, then your speedo will be out.

The difference is usually less then 5% either way, if you have the correct profile to suit the wheel.

The overall rolling diamter should be kept as close as possible to stock dimensions, but you can only can get so close when the profiles jump in sets of 10. eg 215, 225, 235, 245 etc..
