Got L's and P's first try. Haven't done a single test since then... As I've said before on a different forum, I reckon driving tests should be behind the wheel, not in front of a computer... After all, it is a driving test :p

The government should subsidise these driver courses and they should be required for license qualification. Just think, if the rules produced safer more competent drivers, then we wouldn't need things like speed camera's to keep us in line. The government would be able to stop wasting their money on maintenance and film development costs, as well as installation of new cameras :P

I could be very wrong, but i thought that i saw an add for AAMI insurance, where they offered their customers an advanced driving course.

Wouldn't it be nice if you did one, they lowered your insurance

i saw it too, if your using their insurance, and you have kids or something under the age of 25, then they get an advance driving course for free.

very nice idea

AAMI have a free advanced driving course if your under 25 and it takes 10% off your insurance (this doesn't apply for Just Car insurance policies though! )

As for the green P's test.... its so stupid, cos they ask you to look for dangers on the road, but the computer screen is so small that you can barely see them... I recken another harder, tougher driving test might be better (mind you I'm only saying that probably cos I've past that point :D )

Yeah thats if the government objective was to save lives rather then make money. It's sad state of affairs when the gov. thinks like that.
But compared to other countries we have it really good, petrol prices too.

Has anyone done the test you have to do after the Green P's yet? I got a letter in the mail saying it was just another test combining L's and Green P's tests.... is that right?

Yeh i reckon the system is bs aswell.. I've got my L's (going for Ps in 2days) its like.. "yes pay this $35 dollars for you P's test".. they could fail you on anything and theres $70 in their pocket once you have to book again.. a mate of mine was failed becos he was too cautious going thru roundabout at 25kms maybe they would rather abit of drift action to show your skillz :P. N e ways.. hopin I get mine first go as i did wif my Ls cos I will soon get sick of forkin our $30 odd bucks everytime + then like another $20 to actually get the licence placed in your hand + a delivery driver wifout a licence = a bad thing.. as i start work bak from holidays on friday.. 1 chance for me :).
