Probably my first post. My mint S15 was parked, broad daylight on a side street and a pregnant woman ran into the side. She just so happened to be the other half of the mate I was visiting at the time. It was pretty much the only thing on the street for 20+m. Bam! Her car didn't have a scratch.

This blows...

I know exactly how you feel.
Both my girlfriend's car,and mine have been hit five times in the last several months.

three of those times, the cars were parked out the front of our house and we weren't anywhere near them.

the other two,I had people merge across lanes and do their best to push my car off of the road. - they certainly weren't looking where they were going.

the latest one actually admitted that too... 'this is the first car I've had with a left mirror,so I didn't even think to use it...' hence why my 14 now needs a new guard, the steering is bent, the o/sf wheel looks like crap and I'll be spending the next several weeks bouncing from shop to shop getting panel and mechanical quotes so that I can get his insurer to fix it...

I know how you feel buddy, my car has seen better days (previous owner wasn't the best at parking IMO.)

But if you want to feel better I have a story for you!
One of my uncles is a truck driver and he was doing his normal run.
He was driving along when a man coming the other direction fell asleep at the wheel drove onto the wrong side of the road and smashed into the truck.
This wouldn't have been too bad, had the car not destroyed both the control arm and severed the brake cable.
Therefore my uncle had a truck at 60kms an hour without brakes or steering.
The truck eventually came to a stop when it drove into a house and moved the whole house over 1m.
Luckily no one was injured from this at all.

You might have heard this on the news it only happened a few weeks ago.

This is taking it off on a tangent but even notice how cops target people like us with these cars but don't target the people that are actual reckless drivers and smash our cars?

Oh and you think insurance was bad for you, the rig got written off (100k+) and the whole house has to be rebuilt. I don't think any insurance agency would touch that guy after that...

ouch, that would be a big insurance claim!

Scary that the guy who fell asleep will probably be back on the road again soon, if not already!

Worst part is people like that are on the road all day NOT targeted by cops.
But silvia drivers are...
Sorry personal gripe about being followed all the time.

What did they do to you?

Was it the usual follow you until they think you did something wrong then RBT you and check for mods?

Or was it different?

More or less, yeah. tailgating, cutting me off at the last second when other cars were merging in front of us or were about to close a gap where they'd have to slow down before they could pull out, followed by chasing me while flashing high beams and swerving left and right so that I couldn't slow down and drop back.

They weren't highway patrol or even normal general duties guys either, they were in overalls similar to K9 or riot squad members, with full duty belts on. When they finally found the siren (it was an unmarked aurion) and I immediately pulled over, the guy who came up to the car was all attitude and no discussion. he demanded my licence (and that I get it out faster as I was taking too long apparently),and went back to their car. I heard them laughing in the car while they had me sitting there supposedly sweating about it all.
When the officer came back he told me that I apparently was let off because they 'had another job to go to',and I was told to 'slow down,at least for once'. he then got back in the car and they took off flat out, without lights or sirens either...

Yeah,whatever buddy...

It would be nice to have a proper feedback/complaint procedure for this kind of thing.

I can't wait until ALL cop cars have cameras recording ALL the time

Imagine how stupid they would look if you made a complaint and the video footage was brought out showing them 'hooning' around like that.

Sure would change some attitudes

Yeah, the other day, I had a guy hooning in front of me and a cop behind me.

The guy was smoking up the street and the cop didnt care. The guy pulled out infront of traffic one way, I went the other and the cop followed me.

After following me for about a km he pulls me over for a "random breathe test".

I'm sick of having to put up with this sort of treatment...

We need unbiased robocops

The kind of people who usually join the force are your typical narrow minded Aussie who will pull over a piece of 'jap crap' sheerly on principle

Even better, a whole bunch of us should join the force and pull over anything that is higher than 10mm off the ground, doesn't have a Japanese car and doesn't have forced induction.

I wouldn't care about being targeted all the time if they also targeted the commos and the falcons. But they don't.

the average probie these days is mainly armed with a uni degree. common sense and fairness aren't covered in the curriculum either.

the guy who's video clips of him stuffing around in the nasho got to taday tonight hasn't done us any favours either as far as getting a fair go from your local plod.
S14's will likely be targetted more than ever after that.

I'm happy it wasn't a 13 XD but seriously next time I get pulled over I am tempted to video tape the encounter to see how it goes.

The only defect I have on my car is my dash mounted gauge, which if I am brought up for it, I know I will get off because of location etc.

Would be interesting.

That's exactly what I thought after seeing that.
The BEST thing about that video though, was Luffie saying that this driver is giving all young drivers a bad name and they don't deserve that. It's a pity no one else seems to think that.
