They reckon it needs 2 time slots for an inspection, 'cause of the more complicated nature of these cars. A load of bullshit - they realise that people who are going to buy a "sports" or "luxury" car will be filthy rich. Unfortunatly, that's not always so. :(

FINALLY!!!

After first trying to get the problems with my car resolved with the dealership early in December, and the bullshit they dragged me through, including taking them to the department of fair trading, I have finally gotten my air conditioning fixed! :D (How dodgy a job it is though is another story.... )

Some workshops are just f*cking stupid..... its plain simple, that if you own a business and are giving a service to the public, the easiest way to make a profit is to do a job as quickly as possible, and to the highest quality possible, so to both make a profit and keep customers happy..... I have no idea why this dickhead has decided to waste over 8 months of my time, along with over $100 of my own, and probably over $1000 of his own in labour time and fixing the problem, when he could have simply fixed what was really a 4 hour job.

Some people are just born pricks I guess......

however atleast I won in the end! :D

It's good your probs are over. I had an easy time with my last car-buying experience, and it was still a hassle. But it was kinda fun selling the old SII RX-7 to the new owner. Less than 20 minutes from first sight to handing over of keys.:)

The lesson I found was: don't give the dealers an opportunity to jerk you around, and don't jerk them around. It can work both ways.

When I bought the 180, I always turned up when I said I would, organised test drives in advance so they could have the car ready, didn't bull**** etc.

I had the NRMA test done, handed them the inspection and said "Fix these little problems, put a basic headunit in it and change the belts, and THEN I'll buy it." So they did, and only then did I bring in the cash. They could see it was a sure sale, so they did it in a day. They then threw in a year's rego as well.

...the dealer was a Kiwi too, and kept saying "wun eighty uss ucks".

OK OK OK...... I knew actually having something fixed properly was too much to ask!

After having my air-con for 2 weeks, it has packed it in (due to the delaership using dodgy people to get it fixed)........ so now its back to the Dept. or Fair Trading (I'm on a 1st name basis with all the customer service telephone staff! :D )

The only positive is that we dont have to deal with them anymore, instead getting it fixed by someone who actually knows what they're doing.

I'm tempted to name them in the Forum, in order to prevent anyone else having to go through the bullshit that I've gone through. (Even though its not illegal to do so) I wont but if anyone is tempted to buy an import from a Northern Beaches dealership, PM me and I'll tell you EXACTLY where NOT to go!

Stupid f*cks

Good restraint there Jay, a fine example of how to warn others without violating rules and the like.

Good luck with your repairs.

Its all good, we're going back to the Dept of Fair Trading, and hopefully they'll let us go to someone who knows what they're doing and then just send the bill to the di*ks.

nah its definately not!

I want to get a newer 180SX too, but cant (and wont) till I get all the problems fixed so I can sell it. :(

All repairs from now on will be done by another mechanic (or Air-con joint) and the dodgy joint will be sent the bill :D hehe the dumb asses.

hehe yeah I thought maybe I could swing the shop fixing it 1 $20 and they could "inflate" the quoted price by a few hundred $$$.... I mean, they've fucked me around for 9 months, so I feel I deserve it! :)
