I wish he would of told me 5 months ago that he wasnt going to even import the kit for me but no, he just leads me on

dickhead

that sounds very familiar, except my experience took 9mths,and was from a shop in drummoyne. I've heard every excuse under the sun,and a few from somewhere near the orbit of alpha centauri they were that out there...

a couple of examples: 'we had the order ready to go in japan, but we got bumped from the ship because the car makers have some big orders coming in at the same time, and their containers got priority'...

'the parts are here, but because they were in a container that also had 2nd hand panels in it,they have to go through quarantine, and be washed down before they'll clear any of it. unfortunately the washbay's gerni is our of order at the moment so there will be a bit of a delay'...

It gets worse...

So the box that the ARC FMIC was delivered in from Perth was a piece of shit. By the time it had got here, a pipe was poking out the side.

I spent ages fixing it up with tape or so I thought, and Dad took it to the post office tomorrow to send it back to the kent so I can get a refund.

The lady at the post office refused to send it because it was 'too big'. Dad protested, because it arrived via Aus Post!! But she cracked the shits and said no way...so we are back to square one. Did I mention my Dad took time off work to do this because I couldn't get time off?

On the way back from the post office the bottom fell out of the box and the cooler nearly smashed on the ground.

This is so bullshit, the SMIC has been sent back to Melbourne today at a cost of $30 to me.

The FMIC is now back at home. Anyone who wants to buy it can have it for $250, less than what I bought it for.

Fuck Danny Vahoumis.
Fuck his shitty grammar, spelling, and communication.
Fuck Japanese Performance Centre.

Word.

Just got an email from the Hybrid dealer; the shipment they received was damaged so I have to wait another fortnight to get my cooler. :( Car is still sitting on stands looking lonely. :x

I could get a refund but the fact is hardly anyone makes off the shelf kits for a CA18 anymore except Hybrid (cue "SR swap" comments), so I'm gonna wait.

I notice you said you don't want to cut holes.

In the NSW section of nissansilvia right now, GKTECH needs an s13 to trial fit his "no holes" FMIC kit. He needs your car for 2 days, and in return you get a FREE KIT.

Might be down your alley, considering all the screw ups you've had lately. :)

Also, just for the record, I've spent over $3k in parts from sponsors off ns and not had any problems. I know $3k isn't much in car mods, but not all of them are bad :)

GKTech won't do CAs.

Just received word from Hybrid again...

They are having 'massive shipment issues' and won't have any cores for at least 45 days.

An email I sent to the HDi distributor today, more or less sums up my experience.
javascript:emoticon(':x')
Quote:
Dear Paul,

I am unbelievably angry, but I will attempt to contain myself in this email.

I received the intercooler today at work. Looked nice, was delivered okay, and I lugged it home in the rain on foot.

I have just been attempting to install the intercooler which both yourself and the manufacturer guaranteed would fit without modification to the chassis, and I would be able to retain the reinforcement bar, a vital safety component.

Firstly, the width of the intercooler means that it is impossible to fit the core and retain the reinforcement bar.

Secondly, the brackets supplied did not fit on the car. The only spot where the brackets could have been attached to the chassis would have meant that the brackets were on an improper angle, and thus would not have fitted properly.

Thirdly, there were no nuts at all for the aforementioned bolts in the kit. The instructions were not helpful whatsoever.

Lastly, what annoys me the most is that I was assured that I could retain the stock airbox setup with your aftermarket piping. It would appear that this is not the case. Even if I were able to fit the core, I would have to also fork out for a custom pod filter setup, which would no doubt have the effect of decreasing performance anyway (unless an air box was set up).

Overall, I am entirely dissatisfied with this whole process. This has been nothing but a nightmare from start to finish.

I intend to repack the item and send it back to you or the manufacturer, and I will be expecting a full refund plus any associated freight/handling costs.

Regards,
:x :x :x :x :x :x

Well, I guess you can't expect to own a modified car and have things go smoothly. That would be asking too much

yeah, why would you be reasonably able to expect a bolt-on kit to bolt on without modification? that would just be crazy, what were you thinking?
