went to the rta thornleigh other day, bright and early, doors opened at 8/8:30 can't remember. i was first in the door, got the first ticket #001. i still had to wait 15 minutes for computers to power up or whatever before i was called. after i was served, i pushed over the pamphlet stand, made a huge mess, i hate them everytime im there, its never just a matter of go in and pay it and piss off.

happy ending to this story though.... met a girl at castle hill rsl the other night, i heard the story of what i did being told by her, turns out her brother was working there at the time. i used it as an ice breaker, was off to a rough start but i nailed her.

so,you haven't heard of the online rego system, where you can get your renewal from the comfort of your desk at home?

the only time I go to the rta in person now is to have my photo taken for a license renewal every 5yrs or so.

the online system may be a bit clunky, but it's sur as hell better than fighting off pensioners in the queue.

I had to go there the a couple of months back to transfer the registration from a car I had bought in Victoria to NSW. I had the blue slip ready, the green slip ready, application was filled out, everything on their checklist was good to go.

I got into the RTA at North Sydney, we waited 45 minutes to get served.

I finally get to the counter, and this cranky old woman serves me. Everything was all done. Then she asks for me to surrender my old number plates. I explained that I wasn't giving them in, as they were personalised VIC number plates, which were worth a bit of money. I had sold them to someone in Victoria, and would send them as soon as I got new NSW plates. Further, I had cleared this with an RTA customer service rep on the phone.

She couldn't seem to comprehend this, and I argued with her for about 10 minutes. After beating her down, she finally gave in, I got the new plates and left.

They don't even know their own fuckin rules.

lol WHY would you push over the stand??? do you realise that it was probably caught on camera, AND they have all your details. if they wanted to take it further they could have.

one thing i have learnt, NEVER fuck with someone who knows all your details, and dont fuck with the person thats preparing your food

I dont know about all you guys, but I read it as in he knocked the stand over by accident, but yeah, could have worded it better.
Why do you all assume he did it on purpose?

I have never, ever, EVER had a problem at my local RTA office (miranda) even on a saturday when they open for a half day, it only takes 5-10min to get served.

Whats the big deal? at most you have to go a few times a year (buying/selling/junking cars, plates change, rego, license renewal) its not like its a weekly task or something.
