I got an email to from admin@commonwealthbank.com
telling me that due to some software upgrade I have to change my username and password, and to follow the link to do so.
Knowing that the correct address should be www.commbank.com.au not www.commonwealthbank.com, I had a feeling it was a scam.
When I went to log on the real combank there was a message, see below.

So becareful and spread the word for ppl not to follow the link

Security alert

a few weeks ago this guy saying he was from the Commonwealth bank called my house, asking to speak to me (I was on my way to work though, so my dad had answered the phone). He said it was a courtesy call as well.

My dad explained I was on my way to work and if he wanted to call me at work he could, he never did..........anyhow a few weeks later another guy rang up my place again (around the same time as well) asking to speak to me, of course I was on my way to work, so this time my dad goes whats your name, he replies "Michael Ho sir". Then my dad goes "which branch are you from". He goes: "The city one, is that alright sir? (in a asshole kinda way".

So anyways they left it at that and he said he would call back, I can't wait til I'm here to actually answer the phone, I'm gonna give him false details :D:D:D:D:D:D

So if you ever get a phone call from a Michael Ho, don't give out any details WHATSOEVER, they should have all of these details at the touch of a button without having to ask for them....so just a word of warning guys....

I'm a frequent user of Netbank as well, maybe that has something to do with it, no one else in my family uses it..
