we'll not really.. :D

though its a CLUBSPORT 255i with exhaust of some sort.
sounded grunty

going about 120 cruisin on 4th. commy behind
didn't bother to drop down a gear and just planted it.
spool n boost comes on but i couldn't leave him..

looked like he was gaining on the top of 4th..

backed off as we were going too fast. slowed down to check out what commy it was and it was a 255i. I have no probs with 195i but this one was a grunty beast...

gave him the thumbs up..
DAMN their QUICK

need more boost.. :D

Those new LS1 engines are a real beauty compared to the 195i and so forth 5L varieties...

Put it this way, ive got a friend who has a VT series 2 executive (looks like a cop/company car), 6 speed 5.7L. Stock 220kw dyno'd about 160rwkw, and he put a big exhaust on it, extractors and cold air, and pulled 200rwkw !! Hard to believe? Maybe.. but then on a different dyno pulled 220rwkw... so I guess you can't compete with those figures.

Hes had 5 people in the car and still hammered a SR180 many times :( I ran him in the R32 and it was close.. slight top end advantage would go to him perhaps... but he had no chance of losing me on old pac :)

I don't know what mods the SR 180 had when he raced the VT...
The R32, I had no idea what it'd done in the past, but it had a big cooler on it at some stage, when I had it just had suspension, 11psi, full zorst.. chopped EXQSME off here (But in fairness his car was running like CRAP :( ) and a S14. I had no idea what power or how quick...

Keep in mind you can't really base how quick one car is against another one unless you line them both up ;)

For 10k you could put in an rb26dett rather than wasting so much on na motor.
Or just turbo your motor with forgies etc.

Yep 10k will get an SR20 + some goodies like S15 turbo exhaust and cooler. Maybe also a fuel pump and reg. Sell the SR20DE for extra mods.

Sounds good, all I need now is 10K:P

Quick question- Do the SR20DEs and DET's have the same AFM? Reason I ask is I need to buy a pod adapter and the I saw one for a "2L S13", Im guessing it would fit?

I'm not sure yet if it's electrically the same, but pysically it is, so the adapter for the S13 (or the S14) will work.
I'm hoping to do a comparison between the DE and DET airflow meters soon.

i wonder how id go with the R8 now..
I was running close to stock power with only 109Kw@rw, then..

now with 10psi the beast is pulling 140kw@rw with plenty more boost in reserve.. we'll not safe boost but there is boost :D :D :D hence the 10psi

@ 10psi its sits you back to the seat.. :D hmm nice.

i wonder how 200kw@rw feels like.. QIK180 :D wouldn't mind getting a ride in your beast...

Tell us the goos on the tuning, give us the history please.

Correct me where wrong:

Car dynoed at one dyno day with just cat back exhaust for 110kw? (unsure on that one)

you had full exhaust and front mount put on with 7psi only for 120kw?

now boost upped to 10psi for 140kw?

Why don't you think it is safe to run higher? For the stock turbo shaft speed? Are you having leaning out problems from a dodgy fuel pump, etc?

I was planning to be running max 14psi at that stage (car already runs 9psi) BEFORE daughterboard tuning.

not so much as leaning out. my cars mixture is pretty good. the only reason i couldn't get a clear reading on DYNO DAY 1 was because of their exhaust probe (not long enough) and at 10 psi the turbo is running happy. we could have boosted it up to 14psi and gain another 5-7kw @rw which would take it up to about 145+kw@rw.

but @ 14psi on this baby turbo - it'll heat up hard. 14psi should be fine but for an extra 5kw.. with the extra heat - to me it aint worth it..

10psi on the T25 would be spinning as hard as a T28 on 14psi if you get what i mean.

I like it to be still reliable 10psi and 140kw@rw is quite an increase, and a good compromise on reliable and street performance.
the turbo spools very qouick too. we're talking full boost by 3500rpm..
i just gotta take it easy on the wet :D

in a distant future - prolly after the wedding I might get my turbo, injectors and computer as a stage II i'll still be running about 12psi, n maybe 16psi as high boost.
We try to keep the boost down with better power.
= therefore relaible engine.
plus i dont i'm not planning to change my clutch yet.
so low boost = save my clutch... :D :D :D

anyone can turn up the boost from a bleed. piss easy, just need a screw driver, but is it relaible - maybe for the first couple of months :D who knows..

we'll thats my 2cent. I will be putting up a web page on the history and hickups along the way. It aint much but for the newbies its good info..
