Is there something im not getting? Did I not get that memo?

Is there something good about FWD N/A civics, preludes, accords etc that im just not seeing?

Is Vtec actually any good?

They are everywhere these days. Esp. in the city.

I cant say ive ever driven one. And I understand that Honda build good reliable engines. But every integra I see making that awful farting honda exhaust drone seems to be all noise and no go.

Are most honda drivers posers? As I think they seem to be?

I dont mean to offend, but its been bugging me. And after owning a turbo FWD charade, it wasnt very fast. So I have been there!

Anyway, I'll probably read this later on and it won't make sense. Im tired.

Tahnks!!

good cars, just that majority of owners are hoons

hondas = low insurance premiums, affordable, 'good' resale value, vteck marketting gimick = car of choice

There was a couple of fwd honda's running low 12's at WSID in the past few weeks, they go very well when turbocharged.

Oh yeh the S2000 has a redline of 9000rpm which isnt bad too.

I got no probs with S2000 and NSX. They are real sports cars as far as im concerned.

Except when people paint their S2000s hot pink with 20 inch chromies

I've driven a few VTiR civics and an S2000 quite hard,as well as a Jazz or two not so hard.
hondas are good cars.
far better handling than pretty much anything else out of the box, good reliability, and great throttle response.
power-wise,they're nowhere compared to a turbo car, that is pretty obvious, but there's more to a quick car than just peak power. flexibility and response make a car faster point-to-point than top-end kilowatts.
250kw atw is fine, but if you're in a series of 35km/h advisory-marked corners, you'll only be using about a third of that, which is about what the honda would be putting to the ground as well...

I'm not a fan of FF cars, but for what they get from what they have, hondas deserve a bit more respect than they get.
granted there are plenty of tossers out there driving hondas, but then I saw a complete wanker in a bright orange S15 with 19" chromies,a cream leather interior and the most pathetic numberplate ever on the weekend as well,so it's the driver more than the car most of the time...

exactly. I feel like throwing up everytime i see an s14/s15 "rollin on 20's" more often than not, jesalt's are the flavour of the month..... such a waste of a good car.

but back on point, i got done by an integra through some twisties one night when i was feeling cocky, which really put me in my place. made me appreciate the value of a well set up car.

but then there was this one tool in a pos pewter s15 i pwned on the cumbo one late wed nite, he was such a tool. did i mention this guy was a tool? :P

99/100 hondas in my area are rice boxes or driven by noobs.

Ive always respected vtec, not for its top end ability but more for its bottem end drivability. I think most people think vtec is great for top end NA power but, i disagree.

I hate honda ricers\.

Ok so im getting good feedback on the Vtec.

So I really only have a problem with the non vtec integras and civics with enkei G zeros, lowered and slow enough to get beaten by a ford fiesta (ture story)

*Dons flame proof suit*

I've actually been test driving a couple of new Hondas lately with the view of replacing the Crapodore.

I'm a bees dick away from buying a new '06 Civic VTI-L. I'm really impressed with the build quality and refinement. Don't worry, i won't be modding it at all. This is purely a car to get around in with all the comforts and luxuries i've been missing since owning the 180 and Commonwhore.

Re-sale value is another huge plus when it comes to Hondas and now that the missus has her licence, we need a car that we can both live with.

PS I can't believe i just said all that - I must be getting old...
