I just filled up at the Shell at the corner of Victoria Road and Harris Street in North Parramatta. 1.399/L for Optimax and apparently I burned 16.6L/100km this last 10 days or so while mostly grandma driving.

Or, more likely, Shell <insert abuse of energy companies here> were actually charging 1.75/L for Optimax tonight

over here in Broken Hill, we haven't seen petrol under $1.30 just for plain unleaded for at LEAST a year. $1.41 is around the usual price for Ultimate

yeah i thought it was the cheapest day too, only to get raped.. filled up only 20 so i could wait till it got cheaper, didnt even get a quarter of tank with that much..

There really needs to be a governing body to stop petrol stations doing this. Their price waves are bad enough, everyone knows petrol is cheapest Tues, and is most expensive Wed afternoon (heading for the weekend). But fixing the prices like this, for the holidays is just plain low.

Im Not A Complete Idiot Some Parts Are Missing

I wasn't actually whining about the 1.40 or so a litre - it hurts but its not unusual. I was whining about the fact that there's no way in hell my car used 16.6L/100km. That's about 25% up on my normal consumption, and I've been intentionally driving fairly softly so it should be down, not up. My assumption is that the servo had doctored their pumps, and thats what I was having a bitch about.
