PULP for 1.489 this morning - and I was on fumes so I had to fill up

I had a giggle at a woman in a brand new Monaro though - the expression on her face between when she read the prices at the pump and left in huff was priceless. I bet she's fuming about having just bought a 5.7L (or are they 6L?) fuel guzzler hehehe.

Im lucky i guess. I moved house a few months back and im still on the same tank of fuel as I was on when I drove the car to my new place :o

Its a stone throw from work so the temp gauge doesn't even move if I drive the car and fuel seems to last me forever.

On the negative side the missus is a property manager and she is currently getting around in an '04 elantra with a dead o2 sensor :-?
Filling that bitch up twice a week at the moment is crap. Should hit hyundia up for fuel lose because of their incompetant diagnosis skills.

$1.50 for 98ron, when I imported the Sil it was $0.92.
As a shift worker I've got no choice in the matter which is what shits me the most because there isnt any public transport where I am.

Small bikes and scooters are economical, but once u upgrade to a bigger bike, the km\L is not too far off a modern 1.8L car.

Eg: Learner bikes and 250cc will get rouhgly 18-20kms\L

A mid size, 600cc IL4 bike will get 14-15km\L

My old TRX850 [twin] was getting 12.5km\L, which is roughly the same as a new 1.8-2.0L engine car.

Well, u do tend to ride bikes harder..... Engines are pretty worn by the 50,000km mark and considered "high mileage".

I walk and cycle for most of the week, then use the 180 on the weekend trips and groceries duties.

What's the average size tank for a bike???

Also are Learners allowed to ride 600cc bikes? They just sound so much better then 250!

From memory, it's about 16-18L's, of which 1.5-2L is reserve.

Since last yr, the RTA has changed the L's\P's restriction on M\C, and now it's based on power to weight ratio, instead of just capacity.

Go to the RTA website and check out the list, "LAMS"(Learner allowed motorcycle scheme, or something.)

The bigger capacity learner bikes are much better to learn on, because the torque is avail. lower in the rev range, instead of whinging the 250cc bike from 9000 to 12,000rpm just to overtake.

But no, u wont be able to ride the sporting 600 IL4's yet.
Think the SV650 and similar bikes are allowed. V. good to learn on.

U can PM me with any Q's as I love to yak about bikes as I do cars.

Steve

I got lucky myself, but cant believe they fork up the prices so hard on Wednesdays....

I drove paste several places posting $1.119, and thought SWEET!!!!

As I drove back from visiting a csutomer, I pulled in (fuel light was on, not really a choice anymore) and the board was reading $1.289, they had jacked the prices by 17 farking cents/litre, how the fark can they justify that!!!!!

I was lucky, because although the boards where advertising the prices that high, I had rolled in becore they changed the bowsers to that price, so I filled up for $1.229 for Vortex 98 Ron, and the bowser was still showing Regular to be $1.119.

I think it's absolutely farked that they can push the prices up by 17 cents/litre because it's now lunchtime Wednesday.

That's charging me an extra $10 (roughly)/tank because the time and day have aligned in a given way causing a spontaneous alteration in the cosmic farkin fabric that means petrol must suddenly be expensive as shit!!

Fair Go!!!!

B.
