At the moment i'm getting my engine rebuilt. It's been in the shop for 4 weeks now, but that's OK because i have a time frame for it to be ready in time for me to run it in before i drive up to QLD on the 14th of MAY.

Everything has been going fine until the wrong sized bearings were ordered.I copped that OK because the right sized bearings were ordered from Nissan Japan and they were suppposed to get here tomorrow.

My mechanic just enquired and found out that only two bearings have been sent and the rest are on back order.

That means the the ETA is now the 19th of May!
I'm now at the mercy of Nissan Japan which is not a good place to be.

I was sooo looking forward to driving my car with the new engine and suspension (which i also upgraded) up to QLD.

F*CK now i don't know what i'm going to have to borrow to drive up there....

Nothing ever goes to plan, no matter how much you do to make sure it does.
But in the end it will all be worth it, well that what I keep telling myself.

I spend the entire working day in nissan japans hands they are pretty good. If the dealer told you 10 working days dont be suprised if they are here in 4 or 5. Being a small item like bearings they air freight them normally.

Seven weeks for a "straightforward" engine replacement for me.

You'll appreciate her even more when you get her back.

The extra wait i can pretty much deal with. What is really pissing me off is the fact that i have this drive up to QLD and we were doing everything to get the car ready in time. It's just bad timing.

I quite enjoy the drive up north and i was REALLY looking forward to seeing how my new set up performed.

Nissan Japan have been pretty good for me so far.But because the bearings ar on 'back order', that's what has blown out the timing.

If i needed S14/S15 bearings,they would've been here straight away. :-?

I personally wouldn't take a silvia over a very long distance, lots of things can happen. Wouldn't you of wanted to wear the engine in for the first 1000kms anyway?
