Ok i drop my car in saying: "i put the plugs in and its miss firing! can u order some leads and put them in for me?"
"yeah sweet as" he says...
Got it back and its worse then when i did it!... How does this count as being fixed! He's a good bloke, but F**K seriously u think u'd at least check to see if its ok not just 'assume' it is...
As if im not gonna come back and say yeah its fuct.... fix it...
Im sure everyone on here has had this happen to them, but i had to post it... Feels better...

Your first problem is diagnoising the car yourself. Do you go to a doctor and say doc Ive got a blocked arteri and need a bypass? Same goes for a mechanic. The guy should have been smart enough to say no you need to re-gap your plugs. Really the mechanic has done exactly what you told him to do and that was to replace the leads. Yeah he should have roadtested it but some people that own cars like ours disaprove of other driving there vehicle so he has a reason not to test it just do as he is told.
Friedly advice, next time you go to a mechanic try saying " Ive changed the plugs and now Ive got a misfire, thought you might be able to have a look and tell me what you think is wrong"

i'd been to him before and he said if i changed the plugs and got a missfire then i shud change the leads... so he pretty much told me wat to do... did it... and it didnt work
i said to him... mate drive the thing as much as u need to... as long as its fixed im happy!... TA DA!!... its not fixed

but wat u said is true... altho if i ask him to fix it, he could very well say i need alot of things i dont... and i would be none the wiser!
i just needed to have a bitch
