Does anyone know if the rear spoiler on a 180sx has any screws on it or is it just held by glue?? The panel beater i just saw seems to think there are screws holding it.

They are definately screwed on through the boot, if you have seen QIK180's car youd would know as he has removed his and you can see where they are bolted through (that is why he wants a boot without a wing, because filling the holes is nasty).

The holes are the only thing stopping me from removing it from my S13.

I can tell you filling them will be cheaper than a new boot.

just weld them up, grind down, use a miniscule amount of filler just to get any grinder scratches out, primer it up and drop it off at a painters.

I reckon it is well worth removing the rear wing as it looks so dodgy. But be aware, there are about 10 large holes, some the size of a 10 cent peice that have to be welded up, ground down, filled then repray your boot. it is a bit of a nightmare of a job, and unless you are a meticulous professional panelbeater I wouldn't try to do it at home!!!

And yes I know this as mine is in the shop being done as we speak :)

Yep damn things are a pain. Mines gettin fixed with a respray. The thing is so flimsy but its pretty heavy -> but 10 bolts is a joke.

Alot of panel beaters dont like to work with black painted cars as its alot easier to spot flaws in their work.. creases come up 100 times worse on black paint than on other colours, so it takes them longer to get it right...

$400 is pretty good actually..... quoted prices seem to range between $450 - $550

Well black always shows up imperfections a lot more so he prolly means it will have to be a spotless job (not that it shouldnt be anyway LOL)

:) good luck :)
