Hi, since i got these coil overs in my car my right front strut has been making a knocking noise when i go over small bumps, but since we lowered the car and i got a stearing alignement done its gotten worse (probably not the real reason though) I have checked that the height has nothing to do with it as i have wound it up 2" and it still makes a noise. I oiled up the top thing (where the camber adjuster is and also the shaft. I have locked tight (glue stuff for threads) the dampener screw (goes between the dampener and the shaft, at the top of the shaft (just behind the wheel, not at the top) and everything looks fine but its still making this noise.

Any ideas? the suspension people said it could be the bump stop broken?!?

Thanks in advance.

Im going to take it too another suspension place as the one i went to asked me to take it out and bring it in (i did this and they said i would have to leave it there until thursday!! i need my car for work so i couldnt do this.)

Later

Neil

I answered this on nissansilvia, but have cut and paste here for you...

The pillowball mounts on the top of coilovers tends to wear over time. This is natural since you have a metal on metal joint.
If you pull the strut out and move the strut in relation to the strut top, you will notice that there is quite a bit of movement. This movement is what is causing your noise

Hi,

I got them off a friend (swapped suspension and some cash) via too_much_boost  hehe, cost me $400 and a set of GAB adjustable rides.
You can buy them from jms for $1500!!
