The GTiR SR20 uses these, and I believe CA18/RB26 series engine also, correct?

Looking to eventually upgrade the injectors in my stagea, nismo would be the ideal upgrade as they plug in.

Does anyone here have experience with them? Are SARD or Blitz better?

At $150 a pop it will cost me $900 to do my car, so I want to do it properly the first time.

Cheers!

So SARD need collars and tails. And they are single hole. I think I had these in my silver S15. Had some lag issues.

Think I might have to pay the price and get the nismo

There are different types of top feed injectors. Does your nugget engine use the same type of injectors as the topfeeds in the NEO RB25?

I would expect it does. the top feeds Zei is referring to are the older bosch type which are not compatible.

The late-model injectors are not very common and are pricey.

There is a possible solution though. You can get 660cc Seimens Deka injectors for like 500 for the set which almost bolt in. You need to space the rail about 3mm and change the plug leads on the NEO motors. I suspect its similar in the VQ things

The 'normal' option is nismo injectors, but they don't pop up that often. I just bought a set of 480s for the wifes stagea, but it took months to find them

Does the NEO RB25 take top feed?? i thought all RB25s were side feed?

my engine isnt a nugget fortunately. someones broken the 300awkw barrier with the auto transmission without even opening the motor

Yeah the Neo and non-neo motor use different types of injectors.

I do know about that guy making big power. It wasn't straight-forward though like it would be in a neo motor. Lots of custom stuff required

ohh i meant to say ill probably just buy them new from nengun.

they dont list the VQ25DET motor on their website.

and i see there were 2 sets of injector types for RB engines. I take it one side-feed and the other was top-feed?

Yep older RB25 are side feed, later RB25 (neo) are top feed.

I wouldn't go ordering anything until you are 100% sure.

Also are you maxing yours out yet? Got a turbo/afm/ecu/exhaust lined up? I know that you know that injectors aren't the first mod you should be doing

Ohh no i wont be ordering anything just yet.

i have an exhaust, intake, fmic, hard intake pipe, manifold spacer and a piggy-back ecu to go on in the next few months. I still have to buy some of them.

anyway, AFM and injectors start maxing out with a little boost and tuning. around 85-90% dutycycle. so id rather do everything at once and before it is tuned.

yes once a new turbo goes on the injectors WILL max out. im holding out till mine dies because its a BIG job. probably easier to pull the engine out to do it.

I just noticed that the bloke who make 300rwkw is using 610cc Deka injectors. This means they are the same type as neo motors

You could do the same as him by making the 610's fit, or buy the nismo 480's which will bolt straight in

nah his are single hole, needed collars and tails. i like less hassle than that! i have a feeling 480s wont be big enough. 550s would give me a little more room to move so i can totally blow the transmission.

but cool, thanks for clarifying that for me. i knew one of you guys would know!!

480's will do around 280awkw reasonably comfortably. You aren't going to make any more than that. He has a fully built gearbox too to cope with the power

yeah he does. new torque converter, shift kit and new clutches for 4th and 5th.

ill be going new torque converter and shift kit. the sucky thing is no one has worked out why it blocks the transmission cooler when its in manual mode, and how to get around it. might take more investigation from the US.
