Post subject:  sr20det s13\180sx hks step 1 cams fit in s14\s15 sr20det?
Hi Everyone,
Just have a question regarding camshafts, i currently have a set of HKS step 1 cams shafts which is for a Sr20det s13\180sx but no longer have the car anymore and now have a s14a.
can i use these cams in the s14a?

any help much appreciated!

They'll fit but you'll lose your VCT.

I think (off the top of my head) you can get aftermarket cams that retain the VCT as well, but i'm not sure.

Someone else can most likely confirm :).

Looks like those cams lack provision for the VCT if they are all the same, and they lack provision for the rear mounted dizzy (there is a slot in the back of the exhaust cam on FF SRs to drive the dizzy from memory).

If you looked at poncams (i know you don't have them) you'd get this, suggesting that poncams retain VCT:
