Hi guys, just bought this pump 2nd hand off grk200 a few months back and only just got around to installing it, im having a issue atm with a bosch 040 pump i installed today.
i've read the tutorial thread on SAU and its exactly the same.
problem is that first 5-10minutes of driving was beautiful. now when i give it, it just cuts out, if i rev it slowly and keep it longer it does not cut out.

any help guys?

the priming sound on idle does not sound right either, need to know whether its a faulty pump or not because the guy i bought it off assured me its in 100% working condition. the GTR pump and walbros in my old car never sounded like this. It did not sound like this in the first 5-10mins after installing.

here is a video of the sound on idle.

any help much appreciated!

also not sure if this helps but i have a nismo fuel reg that has been adjusted to suit the GTR pump. would this affect anything with the new pump?

Probably first thing to replace is your fuel filter, then pull the pump out and check the strainer isn't clogged up.

Any mechanic should be able to do a fuel pressure/flow test for you as well.

That will tell you whether the issue is the pump straight away.

With the reg, what base pressure? The 040 should flow more fuel than the gtr pump so the higher pressure may mean you are just over fuelling the engine.

yeah i think it's over fuelling the motor,
its drinking alot of fuel as well.
im not sure what base pressure is, should i put a stock reg on to test?

strainer on pump is definitely not clogged up
