I've gotten to the stage where it's time for all the now redundant wires to be stripped but unfortunatly I know sfa bout doing it, so was just wondering if anyone knows an auto electrician in the western sydney area that'd be able to do the job well?. I got a quote off one guy for approx $1300 for him to do it, does this sound about right?

Any help would be appreciated

I have used a guy a few times, when nobody else wanted to touch my car, His name is Paul, and he's mobile. He can be very busy, but he charges fairly ( If it's me saying that, it means he's cheap ).

His number is 0412 088 567.

I suppose it depends what you are getting for your money.

It can be a pretty time intensive job doing a full rewire, plus add to that the cost of a new fuse box and any new switches/relays and new cabling needed.

Considering the really minimal gains you will get from it you are better spending the money elsewhere.

Mine only cost me around 150 in bits but i spent days on it.

On TMB's track car we just stripped out the redundant stuff and left it at that, it took about 1/4 of the time.

Just to give you an idea, this was hello kitty about 90% done. I spent another 4 hours or so on it after this and i pretty much had everything run by this stage

Hmm ok, thought it would be more than just a minimal gain by cutting it all out, but if not then yeah I might just leave it how it is and put the money towards other things on the list.

Thanks guys.
