Hi, im currently having some ticking noises in my 350z from about 2500rpm - 4000rpms, only on partial throttle about 10%, when i full throttle it goes away. It also happens when im stationary, is this signs of timing chain slap? Cars done 75000kms

Sounds like it could be a timing belt issue. But at 75k that doesn't seem right, they should be able to go 100k. Potentially timing is off?

nahh not timing chain
the noise would be worse as the engine revs are increased

and also timing chains last a lot longer than 100k, it will probably last the lifetime of the car without replacing or even adjusting (as it is automatically adjusted).

it could be just a noise from factory, as 350z's are quite a noisy car when driving with no radio and windows down.

whoops, sorry just realised you said timing belt

350z's use timing chains. 3 to be exact.

I meant timing chain :P
I haven't seen any 350z that are that noisey.
Maybe I've just been in the lucky ones.

My other thought is that it could be your fuel injectors.
Also, what fuel and oil are you running in it?
