Hi guys,

Unfortunately for me my clutch pedal bracket broke today on the way home from work. Probably due to the (very) heavy clutch in my car. :( Luckily with abit of force I was able to limp it home..

Now I've heard of people reinforcing the bracket with extra welds so it doesn't happen again. What I need to know is where exactly on the bracket does it need the extra strength? I havn't taken a look at it yet or taken it out of the car because I just got home but I'll be removing it tomorrow and taking it to somewhere that can weld it.

If anyone has any pics or suggestions please let me know! Or if there are any other alternatives available? (I hear there is a Nismo strengthened clutch bracket?)

Also, would a Nismo Slave Cylinder help in this case and lighten the pedal?

Thanks in advance.

When you take it out it'll be really obvious where it's weak.
It's only held together with a few spot welds.
Easy fixed though :).

The Nismo bracket is the standard one with some extra welds as far as i can tell haha.
Like most Nismo things it's an improved OEM item :).

May as well replace the pivot ball with a nismo one while you're there.

Just had one snap on me due to heavy clutch.

Not fun.

He wouldn't have had the box out of the car but if you ever do i'd advise doing that as well.
My mate snapped a stock one a while ago, i run a Nismo one ever since my last clutch change.

you'd be silly not to install one of the nismo pivot balls when your box is out :)

Yep I only had to take out the clutch pedal box and get it welded. Pretty simple once you get stuck into it but frustrating at the same time because its partly blocked by an aircon duct when you try to remove it.

From what I've seen there are plenty of extra welds but theres also an important extra gusset welded in to brace the two weak sides. Wouldn't be too difficult to replicate with an OEM one... :)

Oh really? It literally took me 40 minutes to remove the part, weld it and put it back in.
It's the kind of repair i like doing to my car hahaha.
I'm fairly good at getting into fiddly spots though, skinny wrists and long fingers. Sounds wierd but i seem to be able to work in tight spots much better than all my mates.

The biggest contributing factor would have to be patience
