not sure what's in a 180 but an upgrade in the diff ratio is one of the best mods EVER!

i've got an s15 and they come with the 6 speed + 3.7 and when i went to a 5 speed box the performance... well... there was no 'performance' anymore because the car felt like a complete slug. up'd the diff ratio and it's back to decent now but the next problem is the gear ratios are spaced so far apart... oh well that's the price you pay for gearbox strength.

ADM s14s come with the 5 speed + 3.7 and I guess they must feel like a slug all the time. Now I understand why the journalists raved on about the new 6 speed gearbox and diff when the s15 came out.

SR20DET 5speed S13's have 4.11:1, autos are 3.9:1

It only equates to a few hundred RPM difference along the freeway.

If you were lucky enough to get a CA18DET 180SX, you probably have a 4.39:1 diff.
