Hi all,
I am a new owner of a S13 and also new to forums.
Basically I purchased a Silvia without a head unit and then a second hand head unit to fill the hole.
So today I pulled out the centre console and all the trim to get in to the CD player hole and it’s just that, one big hole.
There does not seem to be any bracket or anything of the like to mount the CD player too, or to even screw into.
When I look under the air-condition controller what should I be seeing? All I currently see is nothing.
There seems to be some screw holes directly under the air-conditioning unit, is there some sort of frame that sits into there?
Is there something I can pick up at a wrecker or some generic frame I can buy to hold my deck in?
Would love some tips, feedback and help!
Cheers
Travis

hey mate.

if you remove the front cover. (one which goes around the climate control all the way to gear surround) you should see 4 screws. phillips head. 2 just below the climate control and 2 at the bottom. inscrew these and pull the metal bracket out. not sure if you have that bracket. if you do there some holes on the side. just line them up with your head unit and use the screws supplied.

It's about 3/4 of the way down in the first post

I've bought a fair few parts off him over the last couple of years and he is very good to deal with.

I managed to pick up a pair from the local wreckers up my way “The Toy Shop Auto Imports” up at Beresfield. $37.50 for the pair, rip off or ok??? I bought a few other interior cosmetic parts from them and was generally quite unhappy with the quality of what I paid for. I was too lazy to hunt around to find the best parts as most wreckers I spoke to only had this or that and I didn’t want to drive all over Sydney. I have now learnt for next time

that price from a wrecking yard is decent.
the days of super cheap parts from wreckers are LONG gone, and yeah, they can be a pain in the arse to deal with sometimes.
They ask a lot for not much and if you want to sell to them, then they offer you nothing for everything. typical of the entire car industry actually, but it's understandable, they are trying to make money after all.

I try and get my gear out of japan or from forums where possible and avoid dealing with local places wherever possible.

Justin...
