the first picture the air doesnt go back into the intake pipe. as in the photo you will need a breather otherwise the pressure will cause the seals to leak. this is also illegal so depends on what your car is used for.

the second photo recirculates the air back into the intake pipe. therefore no breather is needed. still removes the oil mist and the cleaned air is recirculated. means no more oil in the intercooler.

i'm not sure which is better but if its a daily car the second option would be better as its legal.

1st photo wont need a breather as my cusco catch can only has 2 fittings, i assume he got a custom one with a breather put on.

if it has to go thru the intake then i guess #2 would be better.

i meant if you hook it up the way 1st photo is you catch can will need a breather. otherwise the pressure will increase and start to leak out of your gaskets.

when the pressure increases in the head it comes out those pipes to relieve the pressure and gets recirculated through the turbo. the catch can filters the oil mist out of the air prior to getting ingested by the turbo. if you do the first photo (by pass the intake) and have no breather the increased pressure has to go somewhere and will blow your seals.

my vote is the second option.

also if you do it the first way. and you do have a breather. the catch can has to be at least 3L capacity for CAMS regulation...

number 2 ftw
