take the turbo off and replace the lines with longer braided ones, so you can do this easier next time

no i dont want to take the turbo off and replace the lines if im going to do that i may aswell replace the turbo with a bigger one but i want to know if i can replace just the gasket on the car without removing the turbo from the car completely if possible if not ill just wait till i upgrade the turbo but when i change that i going to get braided lines t28 and all new gaskets

no one really answered your question. and no, you wont be able to get at the 2 bolts under the manifold. the manifold will need to come off. if you change the turbo then its easier to change the oil and water lines while its all off. the standard ones arent bad, but they can be difficult to get back on with a different turbo. youll need to bend the lines, and you might bend them the wrong way.

also, buy genuine nissan gaskets, the S15 ones are multi layered metal ones and rarely blow out. they are very good quality.

The gasket can be changed without removing the turbo. My mechanic did it about a year ago. Was very tight apparently but it can be done. I wouldn't recomend it though as i had to change 1 oil and 1 water line about 1 year later. Prob due to the bending the lines took.

Why would you bother though?
It probably ends up being quicker to take the whole turbo side off rather than stuffing around while the manifold is still on.
You'll put it all back together and more than likely have a hairline crack that all hardlines get after manipulating and have to take it all apart again anyway.

Unless you snap a manifold stud. Then its not quicker.

Good luck

yes, changing it without taking the manifold off is a real pain, and can end up taking longer.

Dropping the turbo enough to change the gasket without removing the oil and water lines will cause damage due to the amount of bending required.

yea take it all off i say, its not really one of those jobs u can sort of 'bodge up' by just moving the turbo down a bit. it is a fair bit of work (ive done a stock t25 on my ca) but once you've done it once its great to have that knowledge on how to do it again! i would suspect aftermarket mani/turbos may be a bit easier cause they usually have less heat shielding to deal with..

so yea u either live with it or upgrade (remembering u can sell ur t25g so the t28 isnt quite as expensive)
