About to attempt to remove the quarter window glass from a 180sx wreck,
I'm thinking heat gun and perhaps a hot wire, i assume its held in place by sikaflex or some such.
Anybody done this successfully and what traps do i need to look out for? thanks. :D

Tried to remove the rear quarter glass windows out of my 180 when I scraped it. That black crap they stick on there is hard to get through even with the right tool.

The guy who eventually took the body away had a tool that had a piece of wire and you poke that through the glue, problem is there is no way to get a clean angle on it and it was super hard, I wound up leaving them in as much more force was going to leave me with a lot of glass to sweep up.

In hindsight an even and proper application of heat might have helped wonders.

supercheap have a tool which is a blade with a right angle and a pull cable... might work, id the blade is long enough to cut through all the glue,

otherwise yeah piano wire through the glue is the best way..

do not try and pry the window out.. it will break with any sort of force.
