Hi Guys, my tuner disconnected the o2 sensor whilst tuning and forgot to connect it back after he was done with it.
I have since connected it back up and now the car idles funny when warm & backfires alot.
Would this have caused any issues because he tuned it when the o2 sensor was disconnected or would it be a totally unrelated problem ?
He also tuned it without a bov (blocked it off) but i got a GTR bov on there atm but i dont have the correct plumb back pipe so he blocked it, after i plumb it all up and get it running, would this affect the tune/cars drivebility & idle in anyway?

any help much appreciatyed.
Cheers

Doing it without the O2 sensor connected is common as when you are tuning, you don't want the ECU dropping back into closed loop mode.

Sounds like your O2 sensor might be buggered, or you have a leak in your intake (which could be related to your BOV issue)

so if the o2 sensor is buggered, it would cause it to idle funny when warm?
if so thats the first i've heard of that.
ill check the BOV for leaks might put some gasket goo in to seal it a bit better and see if that fixes the problem.

billy, want to check to see if it wasn't my fault first before taking it back to the tuner as i did remove the bov at the same time when i connected up the o2 sensor.
cheers

yeah fair enough. sorry.

just sounds abit dodge they left it unplugged is all.

id ring him and ask him nicely about it. they might have a good idea as to why it runs funny with it plugged in.

Yep it definately could.

The O2 sensor is ignored until the car is up to temp, but once it is up to temp, the ECU relies very heavily on the O2 sensor at idle and cruise (as it drops into closed loop) mode.

Is the car fine on wide open throttle?

Connect it up to consult and see of the O2 sensor is working as expected
