hi in my s13 silvia when im around the 8000rpm in hi boost the oil dipstick pops out spraying oil everywhere anyone know what the issue is there? i was gonna get a bit of wire to hold the dipstick in but my mate said it may be a good thing that the dipstick it poping out to release the excess oil pressure rather than blowing an oil line or something else??

most likely your crankcase breather lines are blocked (if you have an aftermarket catch can it's probably plumbed up wrong)

If not, then the engine is making major blow by (worn rings - needs rebuild)

yep, catch can is plumbed up wrong.
There is nowhere for the pressure to escape, so it blows the dipstick out.

The hose from the front left of the engine should go to the manifold, via the PCV valve as in the factory setup.
If you don't have a PCV valve there any more you're best off blocking the fitting into the intake manifold, then running both of the ports from the engine into one of the catch can inlets.

The other fitting on the catch can then needs to go into the intake pipe, after the AFM but before the turbo - or can be vented, via a small filter (but this will collect oil and drip - and is not legal)

If you have all the factory bits you're best off putting it back to standard, then connecting the catch can in line with the pipe going from the engine to the intake pipe.

i run a catch can but just run to atmo on the outlet.....cop pulled me up but couldn't work it out.

He was more worried about my "extractors", "pipes everywhere" and "is this turbo"....

Safety in numbers of mods...

i used to do that to an old celica i had

but i put the breather lines into the chassis rail so the oil would condense and slow down the rust
