in the s13 with the digital speedo and the heads up mine seems to have issues i have lost all power to the tacho and my heads up but still have all my dash lights and everything else is fine apperantly if the sender is stuffed it will read 0 not turn off????????

i think this is a common problem with the digital clusters.

do a search here and youll find what you need, i think its removing the cluster and resoldering some faulty joins. something like that anyway

yeah you're right
if the sender is stuffed, it will read 0
so you don't have to worry about that

yeah this problem is a pain in the arse. It's the circuit board on the back of the instrument cluster. There is a weakness in the soldering on some of the copper runs. It can be repaired, but is a pain in the arse, and likely the solder will break in another area later.

I fixed this by installing a RSM, and wiring directly to the speed signal from the ECU.
