I dunno about that. Circuits tend to be pretty smooth and to be honest having good suspension isn't really a requirement for drift. I had some blown Tein HAs years ago and the car was fine drifting but used to be a bit crap going around a fast corner on the road.

If it's really bouncing and chopping around you will have crap grip as your tyres load up and unload, possibly even unevenly. I'd check the bolts going from the hub to the coilover as these can shift if the D2/G4s have the style of lowers where the hole is ovalised to allow additional camber adjustment. Car will seem fine statically and driving straight but it'll move on cornering if it's a touch loose.

D2s havn't been known for their strength or reliablity in the past and if G4s are the same i'd have a look at the shaft of the coilover and the mountings just to make sure nothing is bent/rusty etc.

I've checked all the bolts like three times and had a mechanic do the same. I'll be replacing LCA bushes with poly urethane when i get around to it. That's the most likely cause of clicks.

Took it for a spin today and it's heaps better with new alignment.
