It's always a good idea to search before posting a question. Even common search engine like google or yahoo can give sone results.

SAFC is a piggy back system that reads sensor signals adjusts them and sends to your ECU. It does so for air/fuel mixture. If you get a boost controller and turn it up stock ECU map wont give enough petrol, the engine will lean out and kaboom!

SAFC is used to trim ECU to match air/fuel mixture to the higher boost levels. It is fairly easy to hoop up and tune.

It is ok for stock injectors and entry level mods. It won't be enough for large injectors, AFM, etc...

U can get away with it for starters, but as you try to get more power u'll eventually need aftermarket computer or remap yr stock computer.

SAFC is only good for up to 180-190 kw max. I have one and it's enough for drift. I went to Eastern Creek this Wednsday, a pretty aggressive M3 had hard times catching up to overtake, he was only marginally faster on straights. U get the Idea..

I was going to experiment with GTR injectors and z32 AFM but was talked out of it for now. :-?

arent GTR injectors top feed? youd need a new rail in that case.

and i think they are around the 440cc so they would be a total waste of time on an SR20, barely an upgrade.

anyway, to answer DV5180s question, yes the SAFC is a great piece of kit. BUT, its only a temporary upgrade to modifiy the AFM input to the ECU. its a piggy back system, allows you to run larger injectors and a bigger AFM, but its not a great way to do it. if you want something worthwhile in the long run, get a power fc. its 100% tunable and youl get much more bang for your buck. yes its 2x the price, but well worth it!

EDIT: i guess the GTR injectors will be a minor upgrade if your car is CA18, and a 89 180 probably is unless its been ripped out

I should have mentioned I have CA18DET which should take those 440 injectors no dramas.

And NISTUNE is also a cheaper option then PFC. They are about the same in the end of the day.

cool thanks guys.

was just wondering if it was worth it. i only have minor mods and stock turbo and injectors running 10psi.

i did some searches and got conflicting answers. some say yes its good so say not worth it.

Let me put it that way:

If you have enough money to invest in your car then buy new turbo, injectors, afm, Computer, etc,...

On the contrary, if you have limited funds but want more power then SAFC is a good value for money.
Used T28, fuel pump, FMIC, exhaust... i hope i'm not missing anything, u should be set.

Also forgot to mention there's plenty used SAFCs out there and you can always sell yr SAFC to another noob any time.

Not sure bout sale value cos a new one has been out a wile now. Maybe you can source a used AFC Neo and then share your thoughts on it with the rest of us....
