hi everyone,

my passenger window isnt working in my S15, the window is down at the moment and it wont come back up!!!!

Im pretty sure it is the power window motor as when you press the button all you can hear it the motor click, nothing else. Everything is plugged in and power is getting to the motor.

basically i have two questions

How much would a new power window motor be?
is there anyway to put the window up manually for the time being?

to get the thing up just try and jam 12V across the 2 wires on the motor first just in case it's a controller problem and not the motor.

Otherwise you will have to try and turn the gear on the drive by hand. Do able but not fun

I'm coming in late on this one, and you might have already found out this info.

The S15 was known for faulty window winder units. If the thing failed in warranty they replaced it with a modified unit. My passenger side went and was replaced. Luckily the driver side has lasted, but I was waiting/hoping for it to go before warranty ran out.

The problem as I remember it is that the switches that control the top and bottom limits of travel fail. It might be that you can check these switches yourself if you are good with gadgets.

Any more info on this subject?

My drivers window is stuck DOWN

It clicks as mentioned but won't move at all.

After clicking for a little bit the motor got hot, so it seems that it's TRYING to move, but is stuck.

Ideas? Anyone manage to locate these switches that control the top and bottom limits of travel?

There's a little back box with wires going into it replace that or open it up and tidy up the connections as they tend to deteriorate after time and blow

And the switch ur talking about is the one the solenoid which controls up or down not the window limits

I am on my second Aus delivered S15, they both did this on the passenger side and both were fixed under the original 3 year warranty. I know of at least a dozen other people with the same thing back in the day, most had it done under warranty. You actually want that, as I've never heard of the replacement unit failing. If it has just happened now then obviously you will have to pay.

I don't know what the fix was exactly because I wasn't paying for the work so I didn't pay attention. I think they needed to replace the motor both times.
