and to put that into further perspective, that same engine was considered efficient for making 250hp out of 5.7l of capacity...

don't try and justify why you don't want to rebuild it again with shit like that.

you brought up the fact that it's stuffed,if you don't want it confirmed by us,why even mention it in the first place?

it doesn't cost anything to pursue the warranty option.

Any type of repair will cost you something, but ignoring it might do more damage in the long run.
Also, if you're going to try for warranty you need to do it asap.
If you ignore it till there's more damage and then go back to the builder they won't be any help to you.

Compared to how much you look to have already spent to get the car to this point, the amount required to make it work properly is very minimal. Until you do that, all the money you have spent on the engine is wasted

Unless you are like every other NS person who just wants to LOOK like they have an awesome car but doesn't really care if it is sorted properly. If you just want people to say ' Nah its sik dont worry about it' then go to NS. If you want the advice of people who actually have half a clue regardless of whether it may hurt your sensitive feelings, then stay here

Also you will find that the people work on a much lower budget than those on NS. The difference is that some of us spend money wisely rather than to get the stickers. I guarantee that your car owes a hell of alot more than the SilviaNSW guys who's times you are trying to catch, so I wouldn't start accusing us of of having a bottomless pit of money

Maybe you have found the cause, but does that mean the engine is still fucked and needs new rings?

if it was run in with a tune that rich, then yes,it'll need to be rehoned and the rings replaced.

that is something the workshop AND yourself should have considered once it was bolted in.

incorrect run in fucked it. now,as I said before, try for warranty as that is FREE first. if they don't accept it,which they likely won't now that it's been proven that it was running stupidly rich, you'll have to pay.

it's stupid to just leave it as is. it's not going to get any better and the longer you leave it,the worse it's going to get,and the less likely that they'll help you with fixing it.
