hi all.. i encountered a bit of a problem with my gearbox in my silvia.. 6 speed box.. its not going into reverse all the rest of the gears are fine..

has anyone encountered this problem?

also can anyone reccomend any gearbox specialists or rebuilders around sydney? might also get the clutch done so yeh..

Sometime it helps if while stopped with your foot on the clutch run through all the gears then select reverse (providing its not completely stuffed).

i couldnt get my S15 into reverse the first night i got it

it was SO friggen tight i had to really push the selector through the gate

does your make it through the gate? is it making it that far??

mine makes a loud "KUNK" noise 90% of the time i try to put it into reverse.. takes some time too, or it goes into reverse but its not engaged.. as in the car wont go backwards so i have to re-do it a few times even when stationary! maybe its an s15 thing..and mines 5 speed!

you mentioned that you might get the clutch done too?? how many ks on the car? how much power?

maybe the clutch is dead and thats your problem. can you select 1st ok? and how is the change from 1st to second?? any shuddering on takeoffs?

yeah it makes it through the gate.. butt doesnt seem to go down into the reverse gear..gate seems not the porblem.

also all other gears are ok 1-6 whilst driving and on standstill.

im got about 185 rwkw... and the clutch seems fine..

anyone know any good s15 mechanics or gearbox specialists..
