welcome to the forum.

the loom IS different,it's easiest AFAIK to just swap in the correct one to suit the motor.

you'll need to add a relay for the coils and loop the wire on the plug under the fuse box as it's originally an auto.

Otherwise, it all plugs in.

You'll have to dig through some of the old posts for more detail as it has been pretty well discussed.

i just did a quick one for "det conversion"

here's one on the auto manual bit. It's for CA but still valid

http://forum.silviansw.com/viewtopic.ph ... conversion

Note the bit on electrical

when you do the search go to about page 40 and start working back as it will have been covered years ago when everyone was swapping their de's for det's

Sure, if you're putting an SR20 into an American 240SX (or maybe a Pintara with a KA24)....

if you forget the fact that they are left hand drive, and run a truck motor, then yes..

bhdave has already said all you need to know. Forget US crap- those guys are fuckwits. Search this forum for a few hours before typing another useless post.. Everything you need to know is already documented on this site.

We don't like having to spoon feed answers to every person that comes along; this question has probably been answered 50 times already.

Those connectors are on the driver's side fusebox in the 180SX. It's either attached to the shock tower, or near it.

Seriously though dude, search moar. Like Dog said, the 240SX stuff isn't all applicable to the 180SX.
