If you may or may not know the Greddy Profec B II has an optional steering wheel mounted boost button. Problem is its about $240.
The one i built cost me under $20.

Why use this? well on the circuit you can switch from high/low boost without ever taking your hands off the wheel or your eyes of the road B)

What you need to buy: (bought it from jaycar)
Wire
3.5mm stereo head phone jack
Momentary switch
Telephone handset cable

Stuff you need:
Soldering iron
Screw drivers
Electrical tape
Zip ties
Side cutters
Drill and drill bits

First thing you need to do is solder some wires on the the head phone jack as pictured. Then once done, insulate them so they don't touch each other, then fit the rest of the plug. and plug it in into the controller.

Pull the steering column apart so you can feed the wires through. Once you done that, put column back together.

On the telephone cable, cut both the connectors off and strips the insulation off that protects all of the individual wires. The strip back some of the wires to reveal the ones that are copper. use two of them each end of the cable. solder the wires from the steering column to the telephone cable.

Now grab the drill and drill out a hole on the steering wheel. Fit the switch.

Now solder the wires left on the telephone cable to the switch. Grab a zip tie and tie the cable to the wheel with some slack from the zip tie to the switch. The zip tie now takes the load of the cable away from the switch terminals.

Tuck the telephone cable into the steering column.

Now your done

nice diy, you could've tried looking for a black phone line as it looks much neater or perhaps one of these sparco items.

Great stuff!

Will it work with a Profec A? I think the greddy button works with all the profec boost controllers.

Those sparco buttons are nice. They would probably blow the cost out too much. Your right about the black phone cable, white was all they had :(

I have no idea if it works with profec A
