you'll get used to that but wait till you get your FMIC then you'll notice how much it can really cvreep up you'll hit over boost plenty of times esp in cold weather so when you do get the FMIC get the EBC at the same time saves time and hassle

Sorry to dig up such an old thread.

My S15 was having boost creep exactly like the original thread starter had. Full exhaust and ram air intake was seeing boost go up to about 0.9 bar as the revs climbed beyond 5250rpm. Normal full boost is about 0.6bar.

Anyhow I just installed my ARC turnflow intercooler kit and I have noticed now that the boost creep is no more :-? It will boost to about 0.65bar on the cool nights these days and no more than that. I think maybe I have a boost leak somewhere in the system?

First of all EBC is better to control for boost spikes then manual one. If you read the manual for your EBC and, I suggest u do before even turning it up, get to the section where it talks about set gain or something like that.

Boost spike occurs due to couple of issues. Mainly gate opening too late.

What u need to do is to let EBC start opening the gate sooner. The way it works is it starts to send pulses to exhaust gate to let excessive gasses bypass turbine wheel. As boost increases it lets more gasses out. If it starts too late there's not enough gate action to let extra gasses and you get a boost spike. If u set too soon u get lag or late spool up and boost creep.

Hard to tell really where to set, cos depends on each individual setup. really trial and error method works best if u adjust by small increments.
