If you're running between 80-85deg C on your standard radiator don't even bother, $400+ for a 3 deg loss is not relly worth it is it?

that was on the Silvia, in both turbo and n/a form.

I had a plate between the intercooler and radiator to make sure it didn't lose air out the bottom, and the open grill would have helped.

He means that once it gets to about 87, the temp skyrockets

What he said^^^

That and it only has a 400x300 tube and fin core in front of it at the moment that will be replaced with a 600x300 bar and plate in the near future and so airflow will be further restricted.

And i'd like to be able to use my air conditioning on hot days too :)

Around 1pm to 3pm today, was driving around on the M5.

Was sweating inside my cabin with full aircon.

Ambient temps were around 44 degrees!!!!!

Water temps peaked at a new high, 85-86 degrees. New personal best :D

I'm not the smartest person in the world (alot of people will back me up with that), but I'd have to say I think your aircon isn't working....? :D

Update:

I have now installed a 40mm 3 core alloy china radiator and upgraded my thermos to a couple of 14inch jobbies as well as a china 300x600x75 frontmount and a D1 header tank from just jap. I also chopped a bit out of the underside of the reo and opened up the top of the stock front bar and made an alloy sheild to run between the top of the cooler and the top of the front bar in an attempt to get some more air to the top of the radiator and cooler.

Took the car for a shakedown up macquarie pass tonight where temps used to skyrocket to 100+ after about 3 corners and i would have to crawl all the way up. I had maximum temps of 90 degrees tonight and it took a fair while to get there as well, and that was flogging the living shit out of the car. :)

I couldn't be happier with the way the cooling system works now and would recommend these radiators to anyone on a budget.

For anyone looking for a radiator, it looks like just jap will be selling stuff that looks to be from the same manufacturer in the near future at very good prices too!

I've also just upgraded my radiator to the same model dave has. I haven't had a shakedown run yet as i'm still recoving from a knee operation, but first impressions of it are very good.
Gunmetal: I can send you some pics of my header tank setup if you like. Its probably more relevant to you as its on an SR

what does the header tank do? is it because the radiator top sits lower than the stocker or something like that?

ill be there too and check out your radiators!
