hi !!
ok .. i boost throught 1st fine .. drop it into 2nd flatten it .. and for about 2 secs .. it just hangs there .. sometimes backfires, then it nails boost again and im away !! but that 2 sec gap is really annoying !! I think i have been told its the fuel pump not pushing enough fuel through quick enough ?? but im not sure, its a standard SR20, FMIC, bigger exhaust, and running 12 pounds .. Any suggestions ?? THANX!!

Could be the fuel filter, when was it last serviced. Might need a fuel regulator and a new fuel pump is always a good idea.

no BOV?
If you had one I'd be inclined to think it was caused by the rich mixture on gearchanges...

If the BOV is adjustable, tighten it up and see what happens. Less psssssh certainly but maybe its leaking air from being to loose.

When the BOV goes off there's less air going into the engine than the airflow meter sees, so the ECU is putting in too much fuel. This can make the engine missfire and splutter when you open the throttle again because it has to burn off the excess fuel before it'll run properly.
It's the unburnt fuel going out the exhaust that causes the backfires.
