Ok peoples....
IM STUMPED!

Im having a hell of a time on the dyno trying to tune this car of mine....

There is six timing marks on the crank pulley, all of these marks are the same size and all of them are the same colour (White)...
I have got a timing light on the car, but since the idle is so out of wack I cant get an acurate reading of what mark it is sitting on.. I can take a guess at it but it isnt going to be dead on acurate :(

What I want to do is set my base timing to 10 degrees.....
(I know standard is 15 but I need 10)
If you look at the pulley from the front of the car it has 6 marks on it and the pulley is rotating clockwise, I understand that the TDC is the last mark on the right hand side of the pulley so therefor (asuming that is correct) 10 degrees should be the second mark from the right hand side.

Too_much_boost, WHY-180, ANYBODY?????

Correct???????????????????????

Thanks in advance..

Snezy

Yes, but doing that shouldnt take any effect, I didnt think!! as The car is running EMS, piggy backed on the Factory computer..

Please elaborate further that is an interesting comment....

from memory the marks go -5 0 5 10 15 and maybe 20..
So the second from the left is TDC.

unfortunately you can't just rotate the engine by hand with a test lamp connected to the points...
You could take the cover off the CAS and look at where the hole in the timing disk is while you rotate the engine to TDC by hand.. It should also be possible to hook up a scope to the CAS output and do the same thing. It's just a bit scarey coz you have to rotate the engine with the ignition on - best to take the plugs out I think :)

See diagram.

As DumHed says -5, 0, 5, 10, 15, 20

Confirming this is 15 degrees is factory and mine was set on this with the sticker still intact over the dizzy bolt (which was damn tight).
