id remove the standard if I was you.

I had 2 on my 180sx aswell. The previous owner didn't bother removing the stocker.

It took me 30min to remove the stock one.
now my BOV is so much louder and I get the fluttering niose on low revs.
The factory opens nearly all the time even when not boosting.
you'll never get the chfw - chfw - chfw - chfw noise

my advice take it off.

But i was thinking of removing the little vacuum hose going to the factory one so it couldnt open or would find it hard to open. If it made it hard to open then i could sorta have the hybrid bov effect, some going atmo and some back to inlet but wasnt sure if it would work. I cant be bothered taking it off yet cause im planning on getting a FMIC and cant be bothered playing with the pipes twice, it would make less work to leave it in there is all thanx anyway
Pete

if your thinking of replacing the cooler soon, rather than plumbing the new one in for the time being .. just replace the old one and put the new one in its place. Then when you get the cooler they can weld in a nice spot for the new one.
But when the BOV is in the guard, it collects alot of shit in there !!

Yeah but i was gonna put the new one right near the engine in that little bit of cross pipe that can be removed cause i can have an adapter made which would make it really easy instead of removing the old one and then plugging up the return piping too. I just need to know if i disconnect the vacuum tube from the factory one and connect that to the new one the factory one shouldnt work too well right? Should have a sort of hybrid effect?
Thanx again
Pete
